Designing jewelry is no easy feat.

Just ask Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth, who—after debuting an affordable collection of baubles on HSN last December—is back on the network with an upgraded assortment of pieces that even better reflect her bubbly personality. For the Broadway star and certified multi-hyphenate, drawing up inspiration for her items is an ongoing process.

“I’m still working very hard at it. I’m up in the middle of the night. I’m still drawing out pieces that I want to see done, or variations on a theme,” she tells InStyle. And the themes center on both her love for star- and moon-shaped graphics, arrows, and musical notes, which reflect her on-stage side and range from $30 to $170. “Obviously, music and art inspire these pieces for me.”

Recent iterations include a necklace based on Charlie Chaplin’s song “Smile” along with favorites like sterling silver pave arrow stud earrings and a pave anchor ring. So has the star been able to spot women wearing her own creations? You bet. “I’ll be at an event or I’ll have a concert and will do a meet and greet after and a lot of ladies, and, frankly, young girls, are wearing it,” she says. “I love seeing little girls in these star earring, star necklaces. I love seeing women my mom’s age, or my age, really wearing it and telling me, ‘I really like it!’”

Chenoweth adds that designing the full range is nothing but a passion project. “It never feels like a job for me,” she says. “I can’t see myself doing anything but what I do. There’s no other choice for me. I’m an artist.”
